Anyone else love skiing during this magical time of Christmas? The magic of snow coupled with the magic of Christmas is just an epic amount of magic! Silly I know, but I get excited about a lot of things like I’m a kid again. I think it’s a great way to live! That said, I’m excited to be headed out west in a few weeks to ski with some good friends. Skiing is best shared with friends, we have for many years now, and I’m super excited about this year. It’s been a long time since I have skied this close to Christmas because usually go closer to President’s Day. As for this year, I cannot wait to see Christmas decor with the magic of snow. However, it has made me have to plan and be super organized with our packing because of the Christmas planning this time of year too.

I’m excited about what I’ll be wearing on the slopes this year. Last year was the first year I got over the issue of investing in a super nice, warm coat …and it is truly an investment piece I’m excited to wear this year. I also was sure to order the right pants (bibs) to go with the coat. Funny enough, they’re called “racing pants”…not sure how much racing I’ll be doing, but they’re super cute and super warm…so I can check that box. I also invested in a full one piece jumpsuit….it happens to be a brand I fell in love with last year, but my size was sold out by the time we went skiing last year, so I ordered early this year (you should too if you want a jumpsuit). The jumpsuit will be great to have while my “racing pants” (ha) dry off every other day. Oh, and the wedge boots and the black puffer coat I have on in the picture from last year (above) are classic and two of the best investments I’ve made in regards to skiing. They’re both still available this year and generally are year to year, which is a testament of a true classic piece (don’t expect these to ever go on sale, but amazing pieces none the less). The half zip in the picture below is my favorite and I hope to find a few more colors in this one. It’s a fitted mid layer, but not too fitted. I don’t like skiing in something that makes me feel like I have multiple tight layers …. I like room to move. Oh, and headbands are a girls best friend on the slopes. I listed the cashmere one I’ll be taking in my coat pocket to put on when my helmet comes off at lunch (helmet hair is not pretty, if you know you know), then the navy one is for those nights you don’t have time to shower before dinner, but have major “I skied all day” hair. Either way, hair accessories on a ski trip are a must! Ok, happy shopping and happy skiing! XOXO, Tracy
