Can you believe Mother’s Day is just around the corner? It seems like we were just ringing in 2023 yesterday and here we are looking at summer. I’m always ready for ALL things spring, summer, and sunshine, but lately I have craved slowing down and want to take in all the fun of elementary school for Sarah and end of middle school for Caroline. As I try to take it all in, especially in the depths of the marathon from spring break to summer (I’ve heard some call “May-cember” because it feels busier than the holidays), the person I think of the most is my mom. She taught me how to be the mom I am. I wake up so grateful to be able to run around and enjoy all the phases of childhood with the girls, like she did with my brother and me. Not going to lie though, it’s hard, and crazy busy….so especially as we get closer to Mother’s Day, I think of my mom and how she did all of this running around for us and always did it as happy as could be and she was our biggest cheerleader. I’m sure she was tired, but she never let us know it. My dad and Matthew are awesome, but moms - you know how much falls on you! On that note, I’ll say I got the best compliment randomly from Sarah yesterday (and if you know her, you know she does not give out compliments freely), but she told me I was the happiest person she knows. That was the BEST thing I could have heard! I’m here to tell you, I bet ALL your kiddos think the same thing about YOU! This is a busy season, but you are your child’s biggest cheerleader and they know it!
