Monday: Makes Me Happy

Organizing has always been one of my favorite things to do!  I mean, I made labels for my closet in elementary school, asked for a file cabinet not even knowing what I was planning to file, and fell in instant love with The Container Store when they opened one in Atlanta.  Today I had the chance to do some spring cleaning and organizing and it put me in the best mood.  I've been wanting to find time to reorganize the cabinets in the kitchen, clean out and organize the refrigerator and do the same to the pantry.  Sarah had a long swim lesson this morning, so when we got home, she was exhausted.  She was happy to do some crafts while watching Disney Jr. and I was more than happy having her in the room and doing something I LOVE too!

I started with the everyday china and just reorganized so when I open the various cabinets, it looks fresh to me.  I pulled down some of the spring looking pieces for easier access.  Silly, I know, but a small treat to me because I love using different sets of plates and china year round.  After that, I took everything out of the freezer and fridge.  I had to work fast on this one, but I used Meyer's Cleaner on the entire thing.  I took the drawers out, washed all of them with dish soap and got the grime and crumbs out!  The best part is putting it all back in into rows so when you open the door, it is perfect!  Taking it all out is about the only way to really go through the condiments, salad dressings that have expired and gives you a chance to really clean the shelves.  Lastly, I took everything out of the pantry along with the cabinets full of pots, pans, all things kitchen...and did the same thing.  Yes, I'm still having a blast here!  I think what I have also realized is when we're having a super busy day, to open drawers, cabinet, the fridge and see organization instantly helps you calm in what otherwise could add to a stressful day.
Ok, so the only thing I realized is I need some better tools for organizing.  I'm turning to some online items for some better organizational tools.  I found some great ones, which I have posted at the bottom, but for now, I want to share some of the images I have found to be inspiring as I cruise the internet and Instagram.

My cabinets and drawers are not this picture worthy yet, but my goal is to get them this picture perfect soon!  If I can accomplish this, you better believe I'll be sharing images!  Have a fabulous night!
